Jean-Bernard Kovarik is a Chief Engineer for bridges, water and forests. At 47 years old, he is currently working as a deputy for the General Director of Infrastructures, Transport and the Sea at the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy.  He also presides over the ‘Transport and Logistics’ strategic committee of AFNOR. He has occupied various roles in leading positions in the transport sector with a strong involvement in ports, maritime and fluvial issues. He was at the origin of several scientific publications on the safety of structures in the field of civil engineering.
